In 1999, four missionaries were assigned in the mountainous part of Papua, Indonesia. Sonny Maromon (Indonesian), Jun Phil Won (South Korean), Wagimin (Indonesian) and, Kim Hyong Jun (South Korean) served in Wamena, the capital town of the Jayawijaya district of Indonesia.
To build the training center, there should be a farm, a motor pool where construction materials will be kept, a dormitory, volunteer workers, food supply during the training, and many other things. Wamena can only be reached by plane, therefore all materials which are needed there are very costly as they should be delivered by air transport.
However, only the vision is what these two missionaries possessed at that time. Even their monthly stipend was just enough for their personal needs to survive. But God is so wonderful. Since they prayed so hard about it and were committed to fulfil their vision, God opened the way. First of all, God impressed the heart of Mr. R. Repasi, a teacher of SD. He, along with his group, donated a piece of land where the training campus was to be built. Furthermore, the Lord touched the hearts of the native people. They provided all the needed construction materials, which they hauled from the forest. The rest of the other responsibilities were completed by the missionaries themselves. In every occasion when a need arose, God never failed to impress people and move their hearts to assist and supply what was necessary.
When the materials were ready, the construction phase began. The laborers were not
experienced builders-
During the opening ceremony, the missionaries could only provide 350 packed meals. They thought it would be more than enough for the guests and other attendees. What happened was quite the opposite! Many visitors arrived and they numbered to approximately 1,000 people. It was impossible to feed them! So the missionaries prayed for provision and for a miracle. After he prayed, he told the volunteers to serve everything to the people. Providentially, a miracle happened! The missionaries observed that the 350 packed meals were just enough for all the visitors and were sufficient to feed them all. When the visitors have returned home after the event, the missionaries went to the kitchen and were astonished to find out that there were still 20 packs of food!
By Gods’ help, the training was started with an ample provision of simple food stuff. However, a time came when the campus ran out of food supplies. The missionaries turned to God again. They prayed: God, You have started this work through many miracles. Now, we have no more food. If we cannot give food to the trainees here, they will leave us, and Your work here will not be completed. So please, help us, Lord. Once again, the Lord opened a way. Unexpectedly, God used Pastor Noldy Sakul (Secretary of East Indonesian Union Conference at that time) to help the training branch with the delivery of 15 tons of rice. The campus consumed it for a period of one year.
Five years later, after the missionaries had left their mission field, one of them found out why the construction was finished within just two weeks. The native workers who helped in the construction work revealed that they

saw strangers wearing white robes together with them in constructing the buildings of the campus. While they worked, they received instructions from an unknown person who stood on top of the roof and gave wise directions for them to be able to finish the task for a very short time.
Until now, God sustained the 1000MM work in Indonesia and every year, there are still many young people who are being trained to be missionaries in this branch. Isn’t it so amazing to know that God works on our behalf? He is never asleep and He always listens to our every request. All we have to do is ask.
