Welcome to 1000 Missionary Movement, the official missionary training institution of Northern and Southern Asia-Pacific Divisions of Seventh-day Adventists. It is located on a five-hectare piece of land in Balubad II, Silang, Cavite about 47 kilometers south of Manila and about 5 kilometers south of the town of Silang.
The institution was established to serve the approximately 600,000 Seventh-day Adventist young people in the Divisions. Many of these young people are losing their faith and going out of the church. Many others among those who remain are weakened in their faith because of the inroads of secularism and materialism. If they could be properly trained and challenged, they could prove a tremendous asset to the local churches, districts, missions/conferences and unions in their efforts to fulfill global mission.
The beginning of the roadThe 1000 Missionary Movement became a dream fulfilled, which the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS) board officially approved during the Asia-Pacific Division (formerly Far Eastern Division) annual council at Singapore, Nov. 7, 1991. Four days later, on Nov. 11, all the delegates from the thirteen Unions of the Division unanimously voted to approve the 1000 MM proposal as prepared and presented by Dr. Jairyong Lee, the dean of AIIAS Theological Seminary.
AIIAS GLOBAL MISSION
The 1000 MM started as AIIAS global mission project in 1992.
. In 1995, however, the Asia-Pacific Division made a decision to make it a Division institution. Now the Movement is under the supervision of both the Northern and Southern Asia-Pacific Divisions.
ONE OF THE LARGEST AND SUCCESSFULL MISSIONARY TRAINING CENTER IN THE WORLDThe 1000 MM is one of the largest and most successful missionary training centers in the world. The movement continues to branch out in different parts of the world as manifestation of the power of the gospel. Indeed, it was an institution established by God.
